Considered a continuation of the Ecclesiastical history of Eusebius, and is a condensation in Latin of the histories of the three Greek historians Socrates, Theodoret and Sozomen.

Bindings
Late eighteenth- or early nineteenth-century binding of full pale brown calf over pasteboard. The upper and lower covers are decorated with a blind-tooled panel design with fleurons at each corner. The spine has five raised bands. Gold-tooled in the second panel are the words: Cassiodori Historie tripartite - Aug. Vind. Schussler. The other panels are decorated with blind-tooled diagonal fillets and tools in a star design. There are nine red paper tabs on the fore-edge marking sections of the text. There is a loss to the head of the spine and the lower board is loose at the joint. Size: 317 x 222mm. Leaf size: 308 x 208mm.
