Description

These documents were acquired for the Brotherton Collection in the 1980s by Wendy Childs, Emeritus Professor in Later Medieval History at the University of Leeds, for the purposes of teaching palaeography. The great majority of them are deeds ranging in date from the end of the thirteenth to the fifteenth centuries. Many of the deeds relate to places in East Anglia, and most are concerned with land transfers. Original seals survive attached to 36 deeds.
