Biography or history

1 in 4 was a volunteer led organisation based in Bradford, which existed to provide information, housing and educational support to victims of incest. The title of the organisation comes from the statistic that 1 in 4 girls suffer from sexual abuse within the family. For further details see 'A Guide to the Provision of Accommodation for Female Survivors of Sexual Abuse in England', 1996, Sarah Curtess. Collection donated in 1998 by Sarah Curtess on behalf of the 1 in 4 Project and the CASSA (Counselling for Survivors of Sexual Abuse Project, Bradford).
