Description

The collection is divided into four series: material relating to the administration of the taught course, reference material compiled for students of the course, and material relating to research conducted in association with the course. The collection also contains a complete record of the WOVA conference, held in 1990, originally funded by Bradford University, but eventually produced independently.

Biography or history

Bradford University began teaching Women’s Studies in 1981, a tradition continuing, as of 2007, with a ‘Gender Studies and Social Policy’ course. Jalna Hanmer coordinated the MA course in Women’s Studies (applied) from c1985 to c1996. All records held by FAN relate to this period.
