In folder: Various photographs and negatives of Jill Page and others connected with the Leeds Inter-Agency Project (LIAP) and an award to Jill for Naming the Violence. People in Award photograph: Jill Page, Jane Stageman, Frances Jones, Andrea Tara-Chand, Jalna Hanmer, and Jane and Siobhan, who worked at LIAP. Place: Leeds In box 1: books on Women Against Pit Closures (WAPC) and 1984/85 miners strike, mostly Yorkshire material. Book on discrimation against working class women snooker players In Box 2: folders relating to WAPC and 1984/5 miners strike including personal reminiscences, WAPC publicity, press/journal articles and newspaper cuttings, and photographs. Plus one folder on Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe.

Biography or history

Jill Page was a Labour Party councillor, and later chief whip, in Leeds City Council, and also a member of the Leeds City Council Women's Committee and later its chair. She was a WLM activist in Justice for Women and Women Against Violence Against Women (WAVAW). She was also a Quaker and a peace campaigner.
