Biography or history

An organisation based in London, originally named The Women’s Audio Advisory Service (for film, television & video) (WAARS), later renamed the Women's Film, Television and Video Network (WFTVN). WFTVN was established with the aim of developing networks between women working in television, and furthering communication between women interested in working in the industry and those already employed. WFTVN published directories of Women Working in Film, TV and Video, ran information sessions, and gained representation on relevant committees, including groups within the British Film Institute and Greater London Council.
