Bindings
Twentieth-century binding of half pigskin over wooden boards. A decoration of stylised foliage is stamped on the pigskin where it meets the wooden boards. The spine has three raised bands. Gold-tooled in the second panel are the words: Geminiano sermones funebres. In the third panel is the Brotherton Collection stamp in gold. Gold-tooled at the based of the spine are the place and date: Lyons 1499. Size: 202 x 153mm. Leaf size: 194 x 136mm.
Provenance
Coloured armorial bookplate of Sir Edward Allen Brotherton on the front pastedown. The book was most likely acquired before 17 June 1929 when Brotherton was created Baron Brotherton of Wakefield.
