Final page of a letter from Florence Nightingale to Mrs Egerton Leigh [Lydia Leigh], the first part is missing. Mentions declining an invitation from Leigh 'to receive the offered gifts'.
The bottom edge of the letter has 'to my mother' annotated in pencil.
The letter is attached to page 59 of the Egerton Leigh Autographs: Royalty & Ladies volume.
Biography or history
Lydia Rachel Leigh (d1893), née Wright, married Egerton Leigh (1815-1876) in 1842. They went on to have six children. She died in 1893.
