Description

CROP, The Coalition for the Removal of Pimping, later renamed PACE, consists of information on the formation, organisation, management committee and trustee meetings, worker's reports, its publicity materials and publications, conferences, annual reviews, newsletters, correspondence, training packs, press-cuttings, child sexual exploitation research in Rotherham, Irene Ivison, Fabian Hamilton, M.P., Parliamentary and other meetings, and publications received from other organisations, research projects, government legislation and reports.

Biography or history

CROP began in 1996 by Irene Ivison after her daughter was murdered by a punter in a Doncaster car park in 1993 having been pimped into prostitution three weeks earlier. Irene helped other parents until her death in 2000, just as funding began to be received for the appointment of workers. CROP was a partner in the Home Office funded research into child sexual exploitation in Rotherham, 2001-2, and provided research supervision.

The collection consists of material donated by Hilary Willmer,

Chair of CROP/PACE and Jalna Hanmer, trustee.
