Leaf a1r: Excellentissimi uiri artiu[m] ac sacre theologie p[ro]fessoris eximij magistri Nicolai Dorbelli de Fra[n]cia ordinis mino[rum] [secundu]m doctrina[m] doctoris subtilis Scoti: logice breuis: s[ed] ad modum utilis expositio incipit.

Bindings


Early twentieth-century half binding of brown pigskin and brown paper over pasteboard. The smooth spine is divided into six panels with blind-tooled triple fillets. Gold-tooled in the second panel is the name: Orbellis. Gold-tooled at the base of the spine is the date: 1482. In the fifth panel is the Brotherton Collection stamp in gold. The leaf edges are coloured red. Size: 204 x 143mm. Leaf size: 195 x 135mm.

Provenance

Small black and white armorial bookplate of Sir Edward Allen Brotherton on the front pastedown. The book was most likely acquired before 17 June 1929 when Brotherton was created Baron Brotherton of Wakefield.
