These papers were very kindly deposited by the Leeds Association of the National Union of Teachers in November 1983; we are most grateful to the officers and committee for their understanding and cooperation. Items more than thirty years old may be consulted freely though any proposed extensive verbatim citation in published documents will require the prior approval of the depositor obtainable through the Librarian. Permission to consult more recent items should be sought through the Librarian, the researcher providing evidence of bona fides and a statement of the nature of the proposed research.
Comprises: (1) General, committee, and sub-committee minute books, 1902-1975; (2) Membership register and address book, ca. 1926-ca. 1931; (3) 2 albums of press-cuttings, 1949-1966; (4) Envelopes of sundry loose papers formerly inserted in some of the minute books, including 20 pamphlets; (5) 2 income and expenditure ledgers, 1960-1972; (6) 15 files of miscellaneous papers concerning N.U.T. matters, 1920-1979.
