Public Art Walk – Climate Stories Special

With spring well and truly sprung, this special Public Art Walk invites you to take a fresh look at your surroundings, inspired by works of art both inside and outside the Gallery.

Starting in The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery, Guest Curator and Galleries Learning Coordinator Claire Evans will dig into some of the stories told through the paintings, ceramics and sculptures she’s assembled for our current exhibition, Envisioning Tomorrow: Climate Stories from the Art Collection.

After enjoying some art about the world around us, we’ll head outside to experience some of the sculptures that form part of our world on campus. On a relaxed stroll we’ll take in some iconic works - and some you may not have noticed - as Claire talks about the history of the sculptures and highlights some of the climate and biodiversity points of interest on campus as we go.

We will be on our feet in the open air for approximately 75 minutes. If the weather is a little drizzly the session will still go ahead, so please make sure you wear appropriate footwear and clothing. If the weather is too bad, we will revert to a slightly longer introduction to the exhibition and then visitors will be invited to stay and participate in our Sketch Club.

Please contact the Gallery in advance if your mobility is limited so we can plan the route accordingly.
