Who am I to you? Curator Tour and Conversation

Uncover the ideas behind our current exhibition Who am I to you? with exhibition curator Dr RJ Wade.

Discover the stories and perspectives behind Who am I to you? in a special curator‑led tour and gallery conversation at the Treasures of the Brotherton.

This exhibition brings together a selection of portrait busts, manuscripts, photographs, rare books and personal reflections that explore how identity is shaped, seen and interpreted. Through these objects and their stories, Who am I to you? invites visitors to consider the many ways we define ourselves, and how others define us.

During this tour, Dr RJ Wade will guide you through key works in the exhibition, sharing insights into the materials, artists and ideas that inspired its creation. You’ll hear how the collections of the University of Leeds informed the themes of identity, representation and belonging, and how contemporary voices have added new layers of meaning.

The session also includes time for open discussion in the gallery. Whether you’re curious about the curatorial process, interested in the stories behind particular objects or simply keen to reflect on your own experiences, this is a chance to connect more deeply with the exhibition and with others.

Join us for an engaging and thought‑provoking look at the many ways identities are expressed, constructed and remembered.
