William Morris was a key figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement and founder of the celebrated Kelmscott Press.
As one of Britain’s most celebrated designers his 19th century designs are instantly recognisable. But there was more to Morris than wallpaper and curtains.
Morris was also a poet, craftsman, novelist and socialist activist. He championed the principle of handmade production and founded the short-lived Kelmscott Press in 1891.
