New Heritage: Historic Textiles and Today’s Designers

A Future Fashion Factory event.

Leeds-based textile mill AW Hainsworth and Yorkshire Textiles have created a ‘new heritage’ cloth. The inspiration came from historic jacquard punch cards from Leeds Industrial Museum.

Explore the cloth’s journey from museum to finished product with the people who created it. Then hear from Leeds University Library Special Collections staff about the International Textile Collection. Get up close with some of the historic fabric samples. Then find out how you can access these stunning collections to inspire your own designs.
