FUAM Graduate Art Prize Exhibition 2022

Prize show for recent Art and Design graduates of the University of Leeds, recognising the creativity and excellence of our students.

Enjoy the freshest talent from Leeds’ budding art scene in person or online.

The annual FUAM Graduate Art Prize is back in person for the first time since 2019! Can’t make it to the Gallery, why not enjoy the online exhibition of the four finalists’ work from the comfort of your own home.

Celebrating its tenth year, the prize and exhibition, supported by the Friends of University Art & Music (FUAM), rewards the artistic excellence of students completing BA studies in Art and Design and Fine Art at the University of Leeds in 2022.

The 2022 finalists are:

Liv Hedges  (BA Art and Design)
Sunny Wong  (BA Art and Design)
Astrid Butt (BA Fine Art)
Suman Shams (BA Fine Art)

The finalists are selected by an expert panel of judges from the Degree shows at the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies and School of Design at the University of Leeds.

The judging panel comprises Professor Jeff Grabill (Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Student Education, University of Leeds), Dr. Marianna Tsionki (Curator, Leeds Arts University), Karen Watson (Artistic Director, East Street Arts).

The judges returned in October 2022 to choose the overall winner of the FUAM Graduate Art Prize 2021, which was announced alongside the People's Choice Vote winner:

The overall FUAM 2022 winner is Astrid Butt.

The FUAM 2021 People's Choice Vote winner is Liv Hedges.
