Exhibition Reception: Mary Griffiths and Boris Maas

Join us to celebrate two exhibitions in The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery, in the company of the artists.

Mary Griffiths: Everything and All of Us’ is the artist’s first major institutional exhibition in the UK. It features artworks from the last 10 years, plus a new site-specific wall drawing. Griffiths’ work is often the result of collaborations across literature, science and music. Exploring these themes through geometric abstraction in drawing and print, Griffiths always keeps human experience at the centre of her work.

In ‘You have seen nothing yet’, Dutch artist Boris Maas responds to the mystery and atmosphere of the moonlit paintings of Victorian artist John Atkinson Grimshaw with his own light installation and photographs.

Part of the Smeaton300 festival, ‘You have seen nothing yet’ has been supported by LEEDS 2023 (Leeds Culture Trust) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the UK.
