Description

Single page taken from a notebook. Recto of first page is blank, verso contains doodles and a short note mentioning quarrels Brontë almost had the night previously with James Titterington and George Thompson.


Part of a group of manuscripts (BC MS 19c Brontë/02/02/27 - 32) written whilst working as station master at Luddenden Foot.


Label written by C W Harrison (c.1925) & kept with the manuscript reads:


'Seven leaves (14 pp) from Note-book, chiefly used by P B B Brontë during the time that he was clerk in charge of the railway station at Luddenden Foot next Halifax 1841/1842.

Note: The leaves are arranged in the order in which they appeared before removal from the note-book. The remaining leaves are still in the original cover and are now with the Brontë Museum'.
