Description

The roundel in the middle depicts the capture of John II of France (Jean le Bon) at the Battle of Poitiers in 1356 against the Edward, the Black Prince (57). The miniature shows several soldiers on horseback. The roundel below it shows Charles V of France (Charles V le Sage, the son of John II) enthroned (58). The roundel on the right shows Edward I of England enthroned (56).
