Description
Sheep-shearer winding a fleece, Apedale (North Yorkshire). A large waterproof sheet has been laid on the ground with the fleece on top, tail end towards the shearer. The shearer has rolled the fleece, taken hold of the neck end, and is drawing it out and twisting until there is sufficient length to wind round the fleece. Shearing stool just visible in background to the right. Mounted on Photo File card with LAVC/PHO/P0733. With ms. notes in the hand of Werner Kissling.
