Biography or history

The Hampstead WLM group met in Aukin's flat during the 1970s. A new group was started as the Belsize Ave group was closed due to full capacity. The Hampstead group remained open, but it too closed at some point as too many women wanted to join (groups normally numbered between 8 and 12 women). The groups began in 1972 after the London WLM conference. Aukin also worked as an actor, playwright and director. The collection documents her involvement in feminist theatre and writing.
