Description
Manuscript contemporary copy of the first burial register for the Leeds General Cemetery Company. The last page of the volume has not been used, there are 626 entries.
A handwritten note attached to the the fly-leaf by Reverend James Rawson, Registrar, explains that the original register was sent to the Office of the Registration Commission on 27 July 1837. The fly-leaf also includes an attached receipt from the Office of the Registration Commission for the original register.

Physical and technical conditions
Covers of the volume are worn and binding is damaged. Many of the pages are loose from the binding, some have tears and damage to the right-hand edge, and many of the bottom right-hand corners of the pages are folded over.
