There are two early inscriptions in black ink manuscript on the title page (leaf a1r), indistinct.


Very occasional marginal annotations in red ink manuscript.


Two numbers are written at the top left hand corner of the front pastedown. In black ink manuscript: 178. In red pencil manuscript: 209.


Major initials supplied in red, some with decoration extending down the margins.


Other initials supplied in red.


Capital strokes and paragraph markers supplied in red.


The title page (leaf a1), half of which has been torn away, is mounted.


There are repairs to the edges of leaves a2, a3, a4 and K7.


This copy is wanting the blank final leaf.


Bindings


Nineteenth-century binding of half pigskin and marbled paper over pasteboard. The marbed paper features the spot pattern in brown, red, yellow and cream. The spine has four raised bands. Gold-tooled on a red pared leather lettering piece in the second panel are the words: Petri de Harentals - Super librum Psalmorum Coloniae 1487. The leaf edges are sprinkled red. There is a loss to the head of the spine and to the paper on the upper cover. Size: 274 x 211mm. Leaf size: 270 x 185mm.

Two numbers are written at the top left hand corner of the front pastedown. In black ink manuscript: 220. In red pencil manuscript: 101.


Small black and white armorial bookplate of Sir Edward Allen Brotherton on the front pastedown. The book was most likely acquired before 17 June 1929 when Brotherton was created Baron Brotherton of Wakefield.
