Pages 1-117 are numbered in a contemporary hand; 118-126 are numbered in pencil in a later hand. (Index on pp. 120-126.) Inserted is a newspaper cutting dealing the manuscript. Ownership note mounted on fly-leaf reads: Libreta del Hermano Joan Bagues del Hospital Civil de Gerona. Bound in parchment; lettered LLIBRE DE CUYNA on spine

Biography or history

Nothing is known of the compiler of this collection. If the ownership note is in Bagues' own hand, then he cannot have written the manuscript, which is in a completely different hand
