Contains: (1) Manuscripts of an American address on international law given in 1913, with a preface by, and some correspondence with, Edmund Gosse; (2) Judgement of Viscount Haldane on the case 'Hammerton v. Earl of Dysart', with some correspondence with Edmund Gosse, 1915; (3) Lord Haldane's Dossier, 1916, 162 ff. in typescript carbon, being a memorandum of events between 1906-1915, with autograph preface by Edmund Gosse, autograph dedication to Gosse, press cuttings from 1918 concerning the Great War, and a personal typewritten letter from Douglas Haig to Lord Haldane dated 19 November 1918 expressing the former's gratitude to Haldane for his support during the war; (4) Memories of Lord Haldane, 1917, 81 ff. in typescript carbon, including his earlier years, with a letter to Edmund Gosse dated 7 Dec 1917; (5) Lord Haldane's Memorandum on his staff work in the Committee of Imperial Defence, April 1923, given to Edmund Gosse 10 May 1923, 23 ff. autograph manuscript; (6) Lord Haldane's
