Comprises: a) "Letter to the Right Honorable Robert Peel, from the author of the Wanderings in South America" (the author of the Wanderings" = Charles Waterton), 15 pp., printed. Kept with it: MS letter, 3 ff., about Waterton, beginning "Reply to queries respecting Walton" and signed "JQW" (?); b) TS about Waterton and his family written by Sir Alan Moore (the son of Sir Norman Moore (1847-1922), a close friend and biographer of Waterton), 7 ff.; c) TSS about Waterton and his father-in-law Charles Edmonstone, 7 ff.; d) "Extracts from the note-books of Percy Fitzgerald (a boy at Stonyhurst from 1843-1849)" about Waterton (who was also educated at Stonyhurst College), 2 ff.; e) Correspondence: letters about Waterton from "Jacky" (with TS about Richard Hobson, the author of "Reminiscences of Charles Waterton", 3 ff.), J.Graham Cruickshank, C.Harold Wright, and Mother Mary Borgia (Monica Mary Waterton) to Philip and Helen Gosse, 1939-1942. And one letter from Charles Waterton, 1 f., addressed
