Note: In French. An official document signed "Phillipe de Harlay - Cécy". Harlay was ambassador to Constantinople almost continuously from 1618-1639, then ambassador in Italy for 4 years. He was famous for having married the mistress of Henry IV, who would not give her up, with the result that the marriage was dissolved. In 1610, Harlay married Marie de Béthume. The document seems to be a receipt for his year's salary as ambassador.
