Note: In 8 dark red volumes. The letters all relate to literary criticism, save for domestic references to illness and so on. A number of enclosures contain poems. An order of service at St. Margaret's Westminster in connection with W.J. Courthope contains a hymn by Dobson. A newspaper cutting deals with Dobson's 70th birthday. There is a poem on Balfour defeat at Manchester.

Letter of 23 April 1920: enclosed in a letter from Gosse to Dobson of same date (same place. This letter is in another handwriting, but signed by Dobson). The three undated letters are in a folder marked "DOBSON to Gosse (5) ... GOSSE to Dobson (1)". One of them has Gosse's reply, also undated, on the back. The other two have reply notes, in Gosse's hand, at foot. The letters of 17 April 1913 and 29 May 1913 are in the same folder. Not in printed catalogue.
