Note: In 8 dark red volumes. The letters all relate to literary criticism, save for domestic references to illness and so on. A number of enclosures contain poems. An order of service at St. Margaret's Westminster in connection with W.J. Courthope contains a hymn by Dobson. A newspaper cutting deals with Dobson's 70th birthday. There is a poem on Balfour defeat at Manchester.

The three undated letters are in a folder marked "DOBSON to Gosse (5) ... GOSSE to Dobson (1)". One of them has Gosse's reply, also undated, on the back.
