Note: 1) Announces his engagement to Eleanor Locker; discusses Mrs Cameron's going to Salvini; a new production of Macbeth with Irving and Mrs Crowe and a future production of "Queen Mary". 2) In Paris studying French for his examination in April; describes the two ladies with whom he is lodging; he has become a member of the Beef Steak Club; he relates an anecdote which he heard from the chaplain Savoy Chapel. 3) A letter of condolence to Henry Cameron on the death of his father. 4) He congratulates Henry Cameron on becoming an actor and announces that he has obtained a private secretaryship to Lord Enfield. 5) A letter of condolence to Henry Cameron on the death of his mother. 6) Salvini as Othello; he prefers comedy to tragedy; his life at Cambridge; his mother's ill health. 7) An invitation to dinner.

8) Asks Henry Cameron to send him a dog from Freshwater.
