J. Riddey (GS) Letter 7 (15.2.16) expresses anxiety about possibility of having to return. 'I began to think things looked rather serious'. Also letter 28 (27.6.16). Letter 48 (6.12.16) '…we are so lamentably short of men I'm afraid I should have to go willy-nilly'. Letter 50 (10.12.16) 'While I was wanting to be sent to Hospital another big draft was called for and being so very short of men I had to go'.
