Celebrating 100 years of women in engineering and science

Drop in to the Treasures of the Brotherton Gallery as the Feminist Archive North celebrate women in science, engineering and technology for International Women’s Day 2019.

2019 marks the centenary of the Women’s Engineering Society (WES). In this two-day pop-up display, the Feminist Archive North will be showing material from their collections related to women in science and engineering and celebrating the launch of their new Women in Science and Engineering collection.

Material on display will include archive of the Bradford-based UKRC, founded in 2004 to increase participation of women in science, engineering and technology.

Come along and explore this incredible history.

From 1–2pm on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 March, Lynette Willoughby, past president of WES, will give an anecdotal history of women in science, engineering and technology.

Opening hours: 11am–4pm each day
