Who can use the Library
University students and staff
All University of Leeds staff and students have Library membership. Your staff or student ID is your membership card. It gives you full access to all libraries, services, and resources.
Don't forget your student or staff ID card!
Your staff or student ID card acts as your membership card for the Library. You'll receive your ID card when you register for your course or begin your employment.
You'll need this card to access library buildings, borrow items, and access services such as Document Supply or Special Collections. You can borrow up to 50 items.
If you forget your card you can get a temporary pass from the self-service machine in any library reception area. You may access the library, but cannot borrow items.
Check your Library account
Your Library account is available online. From your Library account, you can see how many books you've borrowed and when to bring them back, see any items you've requested and pay any outstanding charges.
Find out more in our Library Quickstart guides
Staff and students can work through our Library Quickstart guides to find out more about the libraries at the University of Leeds, and how to make use of them.
