Change to Leeds referencing styles in 2015/16

Published Tuesday 8 September 2015

Following consultation with Schools the Library has made an amendment to the Leeds University referencing styles.

The change to both the Leeds Harvard and Numeric referencing styles is:

All author names should be included in the reference.

Where a source has a very long list of authors, eg in the case of some scientific articles, you might wish to consult your tutor on whether to use "et al" in place of some author names.

If your school has chosen Harvard or Numeric as its official referencing style, you should use this style in your assignments. Extensive guidance is available on our referencing webpages.

The Leeds University EndNote styles have been updated to reflect these changes.

If you cannot find the answer to your referencing or EndNote questions on our webpages, contact Skills@Library for help.
