Rachel Myers (she/her)

Profile

I am the Learning Development liaison contact for the Faculty of Biological Sciences (FBS) and I co-lead our team’s strategic embedding of academic literacies in the undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes of FBS, in collaboration with academic colleagues from relevant programmes, modules and the Language Centre.

I provide academic literacy development consultation to students through embedded teaching, co-curricular teaching, and one-on-one tutorials, both in-person and online. I also contribute to multiple institutional strategic priorities, committees, networks, and working groups, particularly those with a focus on equity, diversity and inclusion. I am one of two SALIPs leading on EDI issues within the Library service, and I lead the Learning Development team’s Equity, Inclusion, Diversity and Wellbeing group. I also contribute to the organisation and chairing of twice yearly Teach Meets with colleagues from the Academic Skills Network.
