Ali Kay (they/them or she/her)

Profile

I have worked in the University of Leeds Libraries since 2009 and in the Research Services team since 2016, supporting the University’s publications repository (White Rose Research Online) and the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission. In my current role I continue to support the repository, including ensuring our procedures and guidance are adapted to policies such as the University’s publications policy and current REF guidance. I also produce statistics and reports on Open Access and other elements of Open Research for University research outputs, and administer open access fee payments via the agreements we have with publishers and from the block grants we manage on behalf of certain funders. I am particularly interested in the potential of Open Research practices to make the scholarly communications landscape more equitable, for example by creating alternatives to traditional scholarly publishing routes such as preprint servers and open peer review platforms.
