Beth Gallimore (she/her)

Profile

I’m a graduate in Fashion Journalism with a National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) accredited degree. After university I worked as a freelance Copywriter and Journalist, creating written content for several clients. This included blog posts, email newsletters and online and print articles. Some of my most enjoyable projects were destination guides for a travel magazine and promotional content for a self-published author. During this time I also worked a number of customer service roles, gaining valuable experience for developing skills in communication, time management and compassion.

I moved into an in-house role for a vegetarian food company to manage their portfolio of 16 websites. I put into practice my skills in content design and copywriting, and learnt a lot about campaign development and catering to audience niches.

In January 2023 I joined the University of Leeds as a Copywriter in the Marketing department. My main responsibility was to re-write and edit the course and module descriptions on the Course Search database, bringing them in line with the style guide and the University’s Curriculum Redefined initiative. I also supported business-as-usual website changes, wrote student case studies and contributed to blogs for University partners.

I joined the Libraries in April 2024 in the Communications team. We’re responsible for communicating the Libraries’ service offering to our audience of students, researchers, University staff and the public. My role is to co-ordinate our Libraries website, creating and maintaining our web estate to ensure it’s accurate, understandable and accessible. Our website offers a searchable database of over 400 million Library items, comprehensive resources to support our students’ learning, materials for staff and researchers, information about the Galleries and Special Collections and much more.
