Profile
As part of the senior team within the University of Leeds Libraries’ Cultural Collections & Galleries, I have strategic responsibility for our the development and management of, and access to the University’s archive, manuscript and object collections public programme and cultural engagement, ensuring that our cultural collections contribute to the intellectual life of the campus, as part of the Libraries’ ambitious vision for the future, Knowledge for all.
I joined the University in 2016, as Collections & Engagement Manager for the archive and manuscript collections. In that role,
I lead two teams, the first being responsible for the physical and intellectual management of and access to the archive collections and manuscripts that the University owns or that have been deposited with it for long-term care. I also manage the team that delivers access to the collections for all our audiences through the Brotherton Research Centre, the Treasures of the Brotherton gallery and the Stanley & Audrey Burton gallery. These two teams are inter-dependent and ensure the collections are available and used to their full potential.
I joined the University in 2016, as a Collections & Engagement Manager. Prior to joining the University, I worked for the National Railway Museum in York for 12 years, managing its archives and research centre, and before that I worked on an HLF Project at Birmingham City Archives.
Outside the University I am a trustee of the Friends of Sierra Leone National Railway Museum, a charity that supports the work of the Sierra Leone National Railway Museum as a heritage attraction and community hub, through fundraising, curatorial knowledge exchange and research.
