Profile

I have over twenty years’ experience supporting academic and research skills in Higher Education, including leading academic and research support services and programmes.  Within the Research Services Team, I lead the delivery of research services on literature searching, referencing and reference management software (EndNote).  My role includes developing and delivering researcher skills workshops, providing in-depth guidance and support to individual researchers and research groups and collaborating with library research support teams on other projects.  I also manage the Literature Searching Service, which can provide search strategy support for funded researchers for strategic projects.  I have a strong background in digital education and AI in HE, encompassing AI for the purposes of literature searching, reference management and literature reviews.   

Responsibilities

  • Support and advise researchers with literature reviews, literature searching, reference management.
  • Develop and deliver skills training workshops for researchers.

Uses of AI for research, including literature searching, referencing, reference management, literature screening, and citation searching. 

Search strategy design for (systematic) literature reviews. 

‘Playfulness’ and ‘playful’ pedagogies in teaching and learning in Higher Education.

Embedding and surfacing academic and research skills in academic programmes.

Curriculum design for mental health and wellbeing.

Digital capabilities, digital literacies and digital education.

  • PhD English and French Literature

  • BA (Hons) French and German
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE)
  • Cambridge Diploma in Teaching English Language to Adults (DELTA)
