I am the Library lead for Symplectic (the University database used to record research outputs, grants and professional activities) and the Research Excellence Framework (REF). I have worked for Leeds University Library since 2001 in a variety of areas including Customer Services, team support, open access repositories and support for previous Research Excellence Framework exercises. I am co-chair of the Leadership and Working Environment Cultural Shift group. My areas of interest are staff development, open access, research systems and repositories. 

Responsibilities: 
•    Operational management of the Symplectic database, liaison with the supplier, leading on system development and user training for the Library
•    Library Lead for the Research Excellence Framework (REF), monitoring and interpreting the open access policy, identifying and meeting training needs, leading on the submission of research outputs
•    Chair of the Symplectic/WRRO operational group, bringing colleagues from the Research Services Team, Leeds IT and the Research and Innovation Service together to drive system development, upgrades and improve the user experience
•    Chair of national Symplectic user community group
•    Leeds representative on the White Rose Repositories Services Group 
•    Member of the Symplectic (supplier) REF Steering Group 
•    Co-Chair of the Leadership and Working Environment Cultural Shift Group 
•    Member of the Continuous Professional Development squad for the Research Support Team
