Profile
I have worked in Cultural Collections since 2023, and took up my present role of Visitor Services Manager in 2025. I am passionate about making collections accessible and the powerful role ‘authentic’ objects can play in learning and inspiring visitors.
Along with the Reserch Centre & Galleries Supervisor, I manage the busy Visitor Services Team, who are part of the public face of the Research Centre and Galleries and are a hugely talented group of people who welcome visitors and researchers, facilitate safe access to the collections in many different ways and answer a diverse range of enquiries.
Responsibilities
- I am responsible for managing the Visitor Services & Teaching Support Team.
- We provide access to collections through the Brotherton Research Centre and Teaching Support Servic.
- The Team also welcomes visitors to the Leeds University Library Galleries in Parkinson Court.
Research interests
After studying for a BA in English Medieval Studies, and then undertaking an MA in Museum Studies, I worked in Museums & Galleries for nearly 20 years across curatorial and managerial roles, spending 8 years as Curatorial Manager at the Royal Armouries Museum. I have also worked as SEND support for children in school and studied for certification in Autism Support and Young People’s Mental Health.
