Profile
I am experienced Learning Advisor, providing a range of academic literacies support through working with academics and students. I have a keen interest in supporting international students’ transition experience and how that experience affect their sense of belonging and academic achievement.
I join the Library Learning Development Team at University of Leeds in 2020. I contribute to the Library’s co-curricular offer through providing one-to-one support, facilitating workshops, and overseeing the ongoing development of student-facing resources for the Skills@Library webpages and the Final Chapter resources.
With a background in finance and business, I am the assigned Advisor for the Leeds Business School. This involves working closely with academic colleagues to provide support on literacies within modules and/or at programme levels. I also attend and present at faculty’s education committees.
In 2024-25, I am awarded a one-year LITE Fellowship, Navigating skill gains and losses in the era of generative AI. This project investigates PGT international students’ views on how AI enhances their academic skills development.
Prior to working at Leeds, I worked in several learning support roles at University of Bradford, including in Effective Learning Service in the Faculty of Management and Law (2010–2019) and the Academic Skills Unit (2019-2020). My achievements included:
- I received a Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Achievement Commendation (2020)
- I designed and co-led the Bridge Programme - an extended transition programme for Erasmus and direct entry international students (2014–2020)
- I designed and co-led the Peer-Assisted Study Session (PASS) Scheme for Executive MBA Programmes in (2011-2014).
- I was a module leader for BSc Economics Level 1 Critical Thinking for Economists Module.
Prior to careers in HE, I worked as a qualified financial consultant in the field of corporate finance in Taiwan, and coordinated several underwriter syndicate investment projects for corporate clients.
