Plan a visit

Visits in person

You are very welcome to book a visit to consult material in the Brotherton Research Centre. You may visit as an individual or part of a group. All visits must be booked in advance.

Please use the Visitor basket to choose items and book a visit. As we need to retrieve items requested by you, and all items must be handled with care, visits need to be booked at least three days in advance. If you are requesting items that are held in an offsite store then we need at least five days notice. Please read our guidance on Handling Items in our collections prior to your visit.

Virtual consultations

We are offering virtual consultations for researchers who cannot visit in person, for example international researchers, so that they can still access material. This allows you to determine if the material is useful for your research and helps you get a better understanding of the material held. We can show you items live via Teams. Sessions can last for up to an hour. Please contact us to discuss your needs further.
