FUAM art prize goes virtual for 2020
Finalists are announced for the annual Graduate art prize, with an online exhibition launching in August.
The prize rewards the artistic excellence of art and design students at the University of Leeds. Supported by the Friends of University Art & Music (FUAM), there is usually an exhibition in The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery to celebrate the artists' work. This year, we will host a virtual exhibition from Tuesday 3 August via Google Arts & Culture.
This year’s finalists are:
- T’Shah Henry (BA Art and Design)
- Emma Lawrence (BA Art and Design)
- Poppy Jones-Little (BA Fine Art)
- Sasha Napoli (BA Fine Art).
An expert panel of judges selected the finalists from submissions made by recent graduates from the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies and the School of Design. The judging panel comprises Professor Alison Fell (Director of the Leeds Arts and Humanities Research Institute), Jane Bhoyroo (Producer, Yorkshire Sculpture International) and Helen Watson (Director, The Tetley – maternity cover).
The judges will select the winner and FUAM will award the prizes in an online awards ceremony on 14 October 2020. The winner receives £250, with runners-up receiving £100 each, to help them develop their career as artists.
