Streamline data management planning with DMPonline

DMPonline helps you to write, review and share data management plans.

DMPonline is a web-based platform now available to all University of Leeds staff and postgraduate researchers that streamlines the process of creating data management plans.

A data management plan (DMP) is required for all PhD Transfers and ethical reviews at the University and by many funding bodies during grant applications, so you should complete one in the early stages of any research project.

Through our new institutional subscription to DMPonline, the process of developing a data management plan is more seamless than ever. You can write plans, choose templates, consult advice, assign roles, add contributors, share comments, record outputs and download local copies within a single system.

In short, DMPonline captures all the information necessary to coordinate a responsible approach to data management throughout your research project.

A one-stop shop for DMPs

DMPonline brings together a wide range of data management planning resources in one place, including the standard University of Leeds data management plan

Embedded within this institutional template is a wealth of tailored guidance developed by our Research Services team that will help you to answer the questions and signpost you to other key departments in the University where appropriate.

If you need to submit a data management plan as part of a grant application, DMPonline also hosts templates, guidance and sample plans for a number of major research funders.

Built for collaboration

DMPonline is equipped to support data management planning for more complex research projects through its integrated collaborative functionality.

You can share plans with co-investigators or supervisors at any point, who are able to make changes and provide feedback directly in the system. This is all captured in a single location, so no need to worry about creating multiple copies or conflicting versions.
