A simpler, more secure way to share research data

A new research data repository is coming

We are implementing a new research data repository to provide a more secure, modern and resilient service for research data.

This will replace the two current University repositories: Research Data Leeds and Restricted Access Data Repository (RADAR).

The new repository will bring many benefits, including streamlined workflows, stronger interaction with other systems (such as Symplectic) and an increase in research visibility.

This change forms part of the University’s wider EDCIS programme (Ensuring Data Compliance, Insights and Sharing), which is enhancing and streamlining systems that support research data and outputs.

This is an early update to let researchers and colleagues know that work is progressing, with more detailed guidance to follow closer to full implementation of new service. The new repository is expected to go live in December 2026. We will share updates across the Libraries Intranet and website.
