Masters Week
A week of events, workshops and support for taught postgraduates—join us to make the most of your Masters.
Starting your Masters can be challenging, so we’ve put together a programme of events starting on Monday 11 November designed to support study at postgraduate level.
Welcome Fair
The week starts with a Masters Welcome Fair in Laidlaw Teaching Room 2 on Monday 11 November from 12–2pm.
You will have the opportunity to meet fellow postgraduates from different schools, find out how different University services can support you and give feedback on your Masters experience so far. There are also free refreshments!
Drop in between 12 and 2pm to find out how the following key services can support you:
- Careers Centre
- Disability Services
- International Student Office
- Language Centre and Language Zone
- Leeds University Union
- Skills@Library
- Student Counselling and Wellbeing.
Lunchtime workshops
Across the week, you can also book onto a range of free lunchtime workshops sessions.
These workshops run from 1:10–1:55pm, Tuesday to Friday, in Laidlaw Teaching Rooms 1 and 2 and offer support in:
- reflecting on your academic confidence
- managing your reading
- developing your academic voice
- working in diverse groups.
Step Up to Masters
If you can't make it to any of the sessions above, you can always use our new Step Up to Masters resource for advice on independent learning, critical thinking and academic writing for Masters study.
