The Library is pleased to support local Leeds charities with a donation of £2000

Community Fund Coordinator for RAG, Shelley Parry, welcomed the donation: "we are over the moon; it'll really make a difference when we are allocating the grants to charities".

The Leeds RAG Community Fund distributes small grants to local Leeds charities who do not benefit from regular donations and who have an annual turnover of £100,000 or less.

The money donated by the Library is a proportion of fines paid by students for the late return of Library books that have been requested by another reader.

The history of student fundraising at Leeds can be seen in the digitised front covers of the RAG magazine "Tyke". These were digitised by the Library and are available to view on the Library website.
