Introducing Special Collections

New introduction sessions run every Wednesday at 2pm to get you started in the Special Collections Research Centre.

Our Special Collections include a wealth of unique materials across all kinds of disciplines, but finding and using this historic and archive material is very different from using the rest of the library. Our new “Introduction to Special Collections” drop-in sessions include everything you need to start using Special Collections for your study or research projects.

The sessions will cover how to search the specialist catalogue, how to request items, make appointments and what to expect when you visit the Research Centre. The sessions are interactive and you’ll have plenty of chances to ask questions.

Sessions are open to all students from first to final year. No need to book, just turn up at 2pm.

When: 2pm every Wednesday

Where: Special Collections Research Centre in the Brotherton Library. It’s in the main building on level 2, just ask at the desk for directions.
