Plan a visit

Visits in person

You are very welcome to book a visit to consult material in the Brotherton Research Centre. You may visit as an individual or part of a group. All visits must be booked in advance. Check our opening hours.

Please use the Visitor basket to choose items and book a visit. As we need to retrieve the items requested by you, visits need to be booked at least five days in advance. Some items may require additional conservation or archivist checks and require a longer lead time. Please read our guidance on handling Items in our collections prior to your visit.

Email the Cultural Collections team via specialcollections@library.leeds.ac.uk if you would like to discuss and specific needs in advance of your visit.

Virtual consultations

We are offering virtual consultations for researchers who cannot visit in person, for example international researchers, so that they can still access material. This allows you to determine if the material is useful for your research and helps you get a better understanding of the material held. We can show you items live via Teams. Sessions can last for up to an hour. Please contact us to discuss your needs further.
