New Spacefinder app
Find your perfect study space on campus with the new Spacefinder web app.
Whether you prefer studying in a café, library space or even outdoors, the new Spacefinder website will help to find your perfect space on campus.
Do you want to work with friends in a relaxed atmosphere with some background chatter, coffee and free wifi? Or maybe seek out a space to work alone in silence with a great view from the window and access to plug points and a bike rack outside?
In recent Campus Experience and Library user surveys, students reported that one of their biggest challenges on campus is finding a suitable study space. The University campus has a wide variety of different places that are available for individual and group study, but until now there hasn’t been a way to easily find the space that’s right for you.
With Spacefinder you can:
- See all the different study spaces on campus that are closest to your current location, marked on a map
- Use the search icon to filter to spaces that are currently open
- Use the search to see only the spaces that match your personal preferences for noise, facilities, atmosphere, or location
- Browse a list of places with photos and descriptions of what’s available, including opening times.
Spacefinder is based on Google maps for ease of use on mobile or desktop devices. It needs an up-to-date browser as it won’t work on older browsers such as Internet Explorer 11.
Spacefinder is a pilot project that has been developed as part of the University’s Education Spaces Programme, which is aiming to create holistic, high quality, user focussed teaching and learning spaces for students and staff.
Help us to make your experience of Spacefinder even better by telling us if you spot something that needs improving, or what you would like to see it do next. We’re committed to developing the site based on your feedback, so please get in touch.
